Media Moment

In many markets, holiday advertising is big business, and Canada is no different. GreyCanada Agency has come up with a series of Crown Royal commercials that are clever, patriotic, and funny just in time for the hospitality rush.

This dandy makes light of that scourge of action sports, the dude who is an irritating distraction, the one who may be coming to a living room near you within the next few weeks. The serial interrupter was an endangered species until George Retzlaff invented instant replay in 1955 during a 32-year career for the CBC. While he died  in 2003 at the age of 81, we are thankful for his sports innovations that include the camera setups still used to cover live hockey today.

For this king, and the several others creatively honoured by GreyCanada, a crown.
