D.I.Y. : Chain Letter Revenge

Those of you who haven't been in a cave for 40 years know the chain letter. Formerly by mail and now transmitted through e-mail and Facebook "repost this for 32 days and something good will happen" fame, the interweb version has the potential to be a monumental pissoff.

We've all been so excited to discover our aunt has the know how to send an e-mail- it's like the holidays without all of the drunk people. It's awesome for some peculiar reason. However, the greatest ruiner of the moment is when the first e-mail from someone is something like this:

How is it that a 15 year old child can see what Adults are missing?
Pledge of Allegiance (TOTALLY AWESOME) !
the Pledge of Allegiance
The Lord’s Prayer
Are not allowed in most Public schools anymore
Because the word ‘God’ is mentioned….
A kid in Arizona
wrote this
NEW School prayer :
Now I sit me down in
Where praying is against the rule
For this great nation under God
Finds mention of Him very odd.
If Scripture now the
class recites,
It violates the Bill of Rights.
And anytime my head I bow
Becomes a Federal matter now.
Our hair can be purple,
orange or green,
That’s no offense; it’s a freedom scene.
The law is specific, the law is precise.
Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.
For praying in a public
Might offend someone with no faith at all.
In silence alone we must meditate,
God’s name is prohibited by the state.
We’re allowed to cuss
and dress like freaks,
And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks..
They’ve outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.
To quote the Good Book makes me liable.
We can elect a pregnant
Senior Queen,
And the ‘unwed daddy,’ our Senior King.
It’s ‘inappropriate’ to teach right from wrong,
We’re taught that such ‘judgments’ do not belong.
We can get our condoms
and birth controls,
Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.
But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,
No word of God must reach this crowd.
It’s scary here I must
When chaos reigns the school’s a mess.
So, Lord, this silent plea I make:
Should I be shot; My soul please take!
If you aren’t ashamed to
do this,
Please pass this on.
Jesus said,
‘If you are ashamed of me,
I will be ashamed of you before my Father.’

Not only can these things be annoying but they ruin your celebration of mum or BFF figuring out technology. They're Facebook wall crowding, e-mail box abusing blights on humanity. They're examples of herd mentality for the simple-minded and they must stop. So, if you've tired of sending these people messages telling them to think for themselves to no avail, I suggest sending this back or posting it on their wall as needed. The person will absolutely get the point, and if he or she doesn't, why are you friends to begin with?

P.S. - If you're one of the people receiving the above image, take it as a general reminder to stop spamming your loved one. Thank you.

  1. Funny post. Love the last graphic. I get a lot of forwards from former church members. They are all attempts to win me back to the faith. I have a neurological disease and I get the health forwards. Drink this, take this, do this.Pray and god will heal you. I want to scream and cuss.

  2. I get them as well. Hope you have faith in one thing, and that's finding a good specialist :)

  3. My sister in law used to send me crap like that all that time. Send it on to some ridiculous number of people and life will be grand, ignore it and you'll die or something almost as bad. I told her that if I believed this to be true I would not send it to anyone for fear that they might not have enough 'friends' to meet the quota and something terrible would happen to them. As a good christian one should take the suffrage upon them self and end the cycle by not forwarding it. I don't get those from her anymore.

    1. That is a good excuse. Props to you.

  4. I sometimes like to read these emails but always with a pinch of salt. If it amuses me and I think some else might like it I pass it on. Not because it'll bring me luck, or grant me a wish. I also always check virus alerts and sob stories on Google first for spams and hoaxes, The net and email are such good methods of communication it's just a shame that some people ruin for the others.

Enjoy yourself, it's later than you think
