Bling H2O has been out on the market for a while and it promises to be the greatest WATER out there. And it carries a super-pretty bottle and an enormous price tag to boot - as high as $70 in some places for less than a litre. And if you want to sip that water in style, Bling's website offers the exclusive "Dubai Collection" bottle (same water, more pretty shiny things) for a mere $2600 .
One would think that this is some special water , but it's just treated spring water from Tennessee . In blind taste tests it is indistinguishable from decent tap water. Bottled water is ecologically stupid and wasteful unless you live in Chernobyl as it is, let alone the carbon footprint of shipping glass bottles with mined minerals on them all over the globe.
If I see someone with ridiculously expensive WATER, I do not think class or prestige, but insecure pretentiousness.
If you really want to impress me, donate the $2600 to buy water filters for people in Bhopal.
