Cats In A Hot Tin Coffin

St. Charles, Missouri resident Lori Pellin was arrested for animal abuse for leaving her critters in a locked vehicle when it was 90 degrees out to go to a casino.

Passerby noticed her vast brood of twenty-five cats and two dogs crammed into her Chevrolet Lumina and phoned police. When authorities rescued the critters, they discovered that the vehicle was littered with animal feces and the creatures had no water. Ms. Pellin claimed that she had become homeless and had nowhere for her vast zoo to go and that she just went into the casino to look for a new apartment. (novel idea)

The good news is that both Ms. Pellin and her animals do have roofs over their heads- one is in jail and 26 lives are awaiting adoption at St. Charles City Animal Control. As an interesting note, one of the dogs was microchipped and had been reported lost and is back home safe.

I applaud passerby for saving all of these beings. A 90 degree day can become 160 inside a vehicle in a matter of minutes not to mention the oxygen deprivation that would inevitably occur when 27 animals are crammed inside a Chevy. Nobody in their right mind should own this many animals unless the individual has a farm, but it's obvious that this lady is crackers because she stole at least one of these animals from their rightful human. The hoarding of lives is also the likely reason why she was homeless- nobody wants to rent an apartment to someone who aspires to turn their domicile into a zoo. Cats and dogs are not possessions, they are sentient beings with whom you share your life.

Good on the Police for arresting this bozo and rescuing all of these furballs. If you even consider leaving a living entity inside an oven, I hope you are duly incarcerated.

The St. Charles City Animal Control Dept is seeking donations and fine homes for these creatures. If you are able to open your home or your wallet call 636 - 949 - 3395
